Uncle Walters Music Night

This monthly event is to honour and celebrate one of this countries finest folk singers, to keep the folk tradition going. It is a lovely, informal welcoming session where anyone can come a long and bring a song, a tune or a poem….or you can just come along and have a pint or a glass of wine and enjoy the music.

A bit of history…. Walter Pardon was one of England’s notable traditional singers. He spent his entire life in the cottage where he was born in 1914 in the village of Knapton, Norfolk, and worked as a carpenter throughout his career. In 1974, a tape of his singing reached the singer Peter Bellamy, which led to his recognition as an exceptional singer with a remarkable style and repertoire.
