Johnnie Dalton, the legendary music aficionado and radio presenter, has swapped one set of headphones for a bright pink pair of Poppyland Radio ‘cans’.
Starting this week, Johnnie will be presenting his own live Drivetime show on Tuesdays from 4pm, bringing his trademark wit, musical wisdom and jolly repartee to the listeners of north Norfolk.
Johnnie’s gone up in the world since late 2023, when he literally headed north across Norfolk to claim the hotseat in Studio 1 at The Pod, home of Poppyland Radio. Already a popular and much-loved star on the Norfolk radio scene, Johnnie was seduced by the “incredible set-up and team at Poppyland Radio”.
Johnnie himself went on to explain. “Local radio is alive and kicking. It was a breath of fresh air to hear North Norfolk MP Duncan Baker speak so highly of Poppyland Radio in the Houses of Parliament recently. I’d heard so much about the station already so decided to take a closer look”. Johnnie paid a visit to The Pod and took no persuading.
“I knew I wanted to join this amazing team and broadcast to Poppyland listeners straight away. The facilities, organisation and energy here is utterly contagious. For a slightly crazy presenter like me, I just can’t imagine a better place to be.”
