You may have heard our interview with Adrian Brooks on The Mardle last week? He told us about the Chatsbrook Santa Drive - his latest fundraiser in aid of EACH (East Anglia Children's Hospices).
Well it turned out to be a huge success and Poppyland Radio were there to capture some special moments. Catch the highlights on 'The Mardle' live at 2pm today (Thursday 22 December) or catch it again on Saturday.
The day started at Chatsbrook Finance HQ, Ketteringham Hall. Dozens of supercars gathered much to the delight of those who came along to meet the drivers and admire their cars; Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, Mustang, Nissan, Porsche, and the Chatsbrook Land Rover (and sleigh). Hoggies were there too, providing mouthwatering sausage and bacon rolls. At around midday, the motorcade set off for The Nook.
The Nook is the largest of the EACH hospices. It has bedrooms for children as well as accommodation for families. There's a sensory room, hydrotherapy pool, music studio, a haven, play areas, a teenage room, therapy rooms and areas for family support, counselling and different activities. It also has a large outside space for children to explore and play, although that was temporarily used as a supercar carpark on Tuesday.
The day was a massive success and a huge achievement. Fundraising targets were smashed, fun was had and children and their families were happy and smiling all afternoon.
Special thanks to the inspiration behind the day, Adrian Brooks of Chatsbrook Finance. Poppyland Radio were delighted to be involved, able to help promote the fundraiser and the important work that EACH does. You can still donate on the Chatsbrook Santa Drive Just Giving page, if you could find just a few pounds...?
