During the Platinum Jubilee weekend celebrations, Poppyland Radio hosted a party for all the presenters, supporters, listeners and sponsors of the station. It proved to be a huge success, attracting a good crowd to the special party marquee in North Lodge Park, Cromer.
Between sets from the ever-popular DJ Funky Chicken, Porky's Hot Rockin' provided their trademark high-energy brand of live rock n' roll for the partygoers. The bar was well-supported by the thirsty crowd, and Henry's Coffee & Tea Shop provided mouth-watering loaded dogs and nachos for those who worked up an appetite on the dancefloor.
During the evening, Poppyland Brewery unveiled their special limited edition 'Radio Star' beer, the proceeds of which help to fund Poppyland Radio, which is otherwise run entirely by volunteers. Radio Star is exclusively available from the Poppyland Brewery shop in Cromer. Dave Miller won six bottles of Radio Star in the raffle and, after careful consideration, pronounced it a triumph!
The raffle went down a storm, and all 17 prizes were snapped up by lucky winners from across Poppyland. Special thanks go to the local businesses who donated such great prizes:
