RWE steps up support for Poppyland Radio

Having successfully completed a two year ‘apprenticeship’, presenter Mark ‘Raggy’ Radbourne has earned his show ‘Classics & Curios’ a well-deserved headline sponsor. Already the Poppyland Radio station sponsor, RWE have stepped up and increased their commitment to community radio by sponsoring Classics & Curios. RWE recently acquired three wind energy projects located off the coast of Poppyland.

Raggy puts all that RWE green energy to good use, broadcasting Classics & Curios every Monday from 7pm. In the show he dusts down his extensive record collection, digging out classic mega-hits, familiar favourites and more obscure tunes that time forgot.

"Classics and Curios has always paid tribute to the past, but with RWE now sponsoring the show, we have an eye on the future as well. And that's something we can all look forward to."

Mark 'Raggy' Radbourne

Raggys introduction to the world of radio goes back to the mid-90s when he spent time spinning the discs at Coast to County Hospital Radio, as well as being a resident DJ at the famous Cromer night spot ‘The Pit’ at the old Melbourne Hotel for 14 years. Denise Hone, RWE Senior Stakeholder Manager, first met Raggy at 'The Pod' - the Poppyland Radio studio complex last year.

“Raggy's love of the music rubs off on everyone. We’re so impressed by his dedication and commitment, entertaining and informing our rural communities. We’re deeply committed to reinvesting earnings from our renewable energy projects to foster growth, resilience, and sustainability within local communities, and are delighted to support Classics & Curios.”

Classics & Curios is broadcast on Mondays from 7pm. You can can catch up if you miss a show by visiting the Our Shows page on www.poppylandradio.co.uk
