Splashdown! Rocket lands at Poppyland Radio…

When ‘children of the 70s’ Richard and Paula Crossley from Rocket Design heard that a hit show on Poppyland Radio was looking for a new sponsor, they sprang into action.

‘Stumpy Sanderson’s 70s Stories’, presented by master storyteller, entertainer and musician Andrew Brammer, has been broadcast by Poppyland Radio since the station launched in 2022. Richard and Paula first heard about the show through business connections with Andrew and have been big fans ever since. When the show sponsor slot became available, Rocket Design snapped it up.

A leading graphic design and illustration studio with over 25 years of experience, Rocket Design produce all of their work in-house from their studios in North Walsham. If required, they bring in other talented people to help with services such as photography, copywriting and web development to make sure each project is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Rocket’s design services include branding and business cards, brochures and exhibition design, signage and vehicle graphics, and one of their illustrative specialities is bespoke maps. An illustrated map drawn by Rocket is a great way to bring your town or village to life, giving visitors a wider understanding of your area and helping to increase footfall.

Andrew Brammer is excited too. Unlike most radio stations, Poppyland Radio doesn’t interrupt shows with strings of ads. Instead, shows are exclusively supported by just one dedicated sponsor. As Andrew explained “When you’re telling a story, the last thing you want is to have to stop to play random ads - unless they’re for Raleigh Choppers, The Beano or Hai Karate aftershave!”

‘Stumpy Sanderson’s 70s Stories’ already attracts a huge following, and that’s only going to get bigger when Poppyland becomes available on DAB radio later this year. That will help to raise the profile of Rocket Design too and is just one of the benefits that Richard and Paula are looking to capitalise on now Rocket Design are Poppyland Radio show sponsors. They are also scheduled to join Andrew in the studio to record a special edition of ‘Stumpy Sanderson’s 70s Stories’ for broadcast on 15 and 22 April.
